Tennessee’s first Baby Box was installed in a Fire Station on February 17th, 2023. It has remained open, but empty, 25 hours a day, seven days a week, until just past midnight on May 27th, 2023. Three crew members from the station responded immediately to the silent alarm and found an uninjured baby boy. They called 911 to transport him to the hospital for further health evaluation.
The Baby Box remains open 24/7 to shelter infants.
